Reflective Essay

Making a blog is not an easy task for me, because this is the first time for me to do this. This task made me learn many things. Things that develop my literary skills as a student. I am really willing to do this because this is one way of expressing my thoughts and ideas. I learned that communicating the readers is quite a hard thing to do because not all of the people would appreciate what you’ve done. But for me, the important thing is, expressing yourself. This task made me realize that you can share your thoughts to the readers with just one click. I came into my senses that blogging is such a good help to the world, especially to the people of the world.

What Christmas means to Me

Christmas is the favorite part of the year, especially kids because they will receive gifts from their ninongs and ninangs. It is the most awaited part of the year because it is the end of the year and another year will come. Another year of chance and hope. We all know that this 25th day of December is said to be the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. This is the time of extreme happiness and joy beyond compare.
This Christmas, all of us must show the essence of it to all the people because it is just the way we celebrate it. We must show love to each other. Give and share. And of course, show respect to everybody.
As Filipino citizens, Christmas is already our tradition. We celebrate this annually. This is our way of looking back from the one who save us. Christmas times seemed to be the magical part of the year. The beautifully decorated shopping malls, with toys everywhere you looked, always fascinated me. And the houses, with the way their Christmas lights would glow upon the glistening snow at night, always seemed to calm me. The cold breeze of December reminds me of something.
Celebrating Christmas with the family is the best way to do so. The love of the family could never be replaced by friends, boyfriends, or other people. A complete family is a nice way of showing to the people, especially God the true essence of Christmas in our hearts. We must also learn to forgive people who have hurt our feelings before and also learn to accept them of what and who they are. Each one of us must know the word, “Acceptance”.
For us to be happy this time of the year, God must be with us in everything we do. God should be the center of all things. This time, God should always be in our minds, now and forever because He is the reason of this all.

Changing You and I

Every one of us in this small world wants to change a lot of things in us and the world were living. We longed to change everything for our lives to be perfect, but we couldn’t be, because we’re not born perfect. The question is, do we need to change everything? What things do we need to do to make a change?
Like other people, I am blessed to have that made me live this life normally. But as a person we have traits that cause to let us down in. Some traits of ours cause some of our defeats in life’s big war and we’re trying to change it. To make a difference in ourselves, we must have the great desire to change a thing for us to achieve a goal.
A person is a great influence to someone’s life. Someone can change a person’s perspective towards life; it can even make a difference in everything he/she does.
Each one of us can be a good inspiration to the people of the nation. We can do help a lot in the nation’s change. The problems faced by the nation today are the result of disunited people and self-centered politicians that rule the nation. For us to have a better country to live, we must all contribute and share our different thoughts to the people around us. Every idea is such a big help to all. People must be united, show peace and cooperation in every good decision for the nation to succeed whatever it takes to be the best nation we can ever be.
Have you ever desired to make a difference in our world today?  What made you decide so?  As we look back, the world in the past years is so much different from the world today. Everybody can see it with their two naked eyes. Everything’s changing. The places, the people, the culture and even the ways of other people’s expression, the way they do things and many such things. But, when can we change these things? Others say, it’s too late, but the truth is, it’s never too late and it’s time to make a change, not tomorrow, not next week or next year, but today. Today is the right time for us to move, to make a difference. A difference that would change some lives and improve all of us.
Life is so wonderful, yet mysterious because things seem to change so fast that we didn’t even notice it. We only find ourselves surprised of the things we suddenly discover, things we did not expect to happen as life goes on and on. We just need to express ourselves and must come together for only one vision and a thing to focus on, and it’s CHANGE !

Reaction Paper on the Deconstruction of Thank You M'am

This work was such a good choice for each and every one of us to read. The readers will surely have a great time reading this work. There are many situations that really happen in real life. As I read the first part of this work, I was eager to continue reading because the characters were interesting. This work develops the readers to build trust within themselves because you cannot trust other people around you if you don’t trust yourself. Each day we face, everything can never happen the same place twice. It means, this work is not always happening in our society nowadays. Can you imagine? Your purse is supposed to be stolen by a boy, whom you didn’t know. You should be mad of what he did. But this didn’t happen to Mrs. Jones. I salute her for that. She made the boy a trustworthy person. She changed Roger’s perspective to life, and Roger should be grateful for it. She also teaches Roger from right to wrong. I really like the work because it gives us a good lesson in each of the situation. We must learn to trust each other in order to build proper communication. Also, we don’t need to be wealthy, to help people. We just need to be understanding. We must consider some things that are meant to be considered.
When Mrs. Jones caught Roger and held his neck in her arms, i really expected that, because Roger intended to steal her large purse. Of course, Mrs. Jones gets mad about it. But when Mrs. Jones led him to her room, I was surprised when she let Roger washed his face in the sink and let him fix him in a good way. When Roger also asked the large woman if she would take her to the jail, Mrs. Jones just replied, “Not with that face, I would not take you anywhere,” I feel anger when she held Roger in her arms so that he can’t escape from Mrs. Jones. Even if what I feel was not reasonable, but Roger too, has rights, he is also a child, a child with rights. A right to explain or hear from his part. I feel such delight when the problem is already fixed in a good way. They knew a little from each other, but not so confidential, because Mrs. Jones is not after with where he lived, where are his parents, grandparents, or even relatives. She just simply asked Roger if what his reason of attempting to steal her purse is. Roger also answered in a lonely tone, that he wants to buy a blue suede shoes for himself. After hearing those words from the boy, Mrs. Jones told Roger that he doesn’t need to snatch her large purse. He could have asked the large woman money to buy those blue suede shoes.
This material really relates to my own life experience. When someone texted me, and the number is unknown, it means, it is not saved in my cell phone’s contacts. I learn to trust that this person who texted me, also trust me. Both of us needed to build trust with each other so that we could have a proper communication with each other. We need to trust each other so that there would be no queries if something bad would be discovered. Some of us find contentment and hope every time we trust. To trust a person, is also letting them trust you the way you trust them. We must live each day with trust in ourselves, trust in all of the people around us, and the most of all!, Our great trust to our Heavenly Father.

Our Values Today

Have you ever asked yourself what is really the true meaning of values in our life? Did you ever wonder what’s the importance of values? Do you think that our values would really last forever?
Our values today could be considered as a good one. People today think that values would change, but that’s not true! All the things in this world will change, the attitudes, feelings, the surroundings and all the people living in this world, but values would never change. Values always remain as values.
It’s sad to know that our values today are deteriorating. But we can do some things to bring back our values.

My Teacher, My Hero

One way of making a difference in this world is to influence others through your good thoughts and deeds. The ability to be a hero is within us. It is in our self if we will develop it or not. But how can we become a hero? Do we need to die for us to be declared as a hero?
A teacher is such an influential person because, the students will do what he/she does because she's a teacher, and that's her profession, and we can't do anything about that. Teachers mould the professional ones now. They could learn nothing if not because of teachers. They serve as our second parents at school. They care for us. Being a hero, doesn't mean that you would die for that honour. It doesn't require death anyway. I liked to be like my teacher someday because she's brave and strong even if she is woman. She doesn't easily become weak. When we were in a competition, she told me, "Never give up." She always gives encouragement to me. At the end of the contest, the result was announced and found that i lost the competition. I was so depressed because I did my very best just to win the competition. But she just told me, "Life, they say, is like a wheel, it has its ups and downs. It seems our wheels got stuck is at a standstill. To get on top again, we have to work harder and it’s the same thing as "Life has its wins and losses. We must learn to accept what would be the outcome. Another lesson that I've got from my teacher is when we did an activity, I only shortcut the procedures to make it work fast, but in the end, it didn't work. She says "He who does things in a hurry often messes them up". "A fruit that's forced to ripen turns sour, if not bitter". From that I learned the art of waiting.
A teacher can't be a good one not unless she has warm affection towards her pupils and a great desire to change their lives.
